Information About Our Group
We are pleased that you have an interest in The Learning Tree Homeschool Group! Our group provides homeschooling families with Christian-based enrichment and supplemental classes in a group setting. All homeschooling families with at least one child kindergarten age and up are welcome. Families with only preschool age children or younger can be added as space allows, but are not added until later in registration week.

OUR OFFERINGS
Enrichment Classes
The Learning Tree Homeschool Group offers a variety of classes for children in preschool through high school. The classes are divided by age groups. As a general guideline, the maximum class size is set at 12 students for the younger grades and 15-20 for the older grades. There is also a nursery available for those members who are teaching classes as well as for those who are volunteering.
Field Trips
Each session we offer a variety of field trips for our students and their families. Whether it is a tour of the State House, an exhibit at a local museum, a hands-on experience in science, a local production of a play, or a visit to one of the many local parks, our field trips add additional enrichment experiences and a lot of fun! Field trips are organized by our members.
Organized Events
Our homeschool group provides community and connection, to ensure our students get to participate in many activities beyond classes and field trips.
Showcase
Each session we organize an end-of-session Showcase event that highlights what our students have accomplished during the session.
Teen Nights - Spring Formal
For our teens, we provide an opportunity to hang out and enjoy time with each other outside of the classroom, with a variety of activities. From bowling to pizza parties to pumpkin patches to game nights, our teens love getting together to just hang out!
Each Spring, we host a Spring Formal Dance. It’s a fun-filled event for our older students and a great chance to dress up, socialize, and create some great memories.
Community Support
Our special projects committee works to provide opportunities for community support through our host church, Reynoldsburg Nazarene, as well as other groups.
OUR LOCATION
The Learning Tree Homeschool Group meets at Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene, 1340 Crest Road, in Reynoldsburg.
OUR MEMBERS
The Learning Tree Group is a Christian, family-run organization made up of participating families. We are first and foremost a community, not a drop-off program, childcare service, or replacement school. Our purpose is to support and encourage one another in our home education journeys, and each family plays an essential role in the operation of the group.
As a cooperative, the Learning Tree Group relies on member participation and volunteer service each semester. To offer a diverse range of classes for all grade levels and age groups, our co-op depends on families to serve as teachers and volunteers. While first-time members are not required to teach, they are vital contributors in other volunteer roles.
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, classroom helper, nursery helper, cleaning and sanitation, door monitor, lunch setup and cleanup, and float positions that assist where needed.
In addition, each family is asked to serve on an event or activity committee to help share responsibilities and ensure co-op events are successful. The group is facilitated by an all-volunteer, unpaid board. Through shared effort and cooperation, our families work together to accomplish the tasks necessary to run the group effectively and foster a strong, supportive community.
REGISTRATION FOR EACH SESSION
Class registration takes place five to six weeks prior to the start of each session, on the dates listed on the website homepage under the “Registration Dates” column.
To be eligible to register for classes when the new member registration window opens during registration week, new members must meet the following requirements:
-
Attend the required New Member Meeting, which is typically held on a Thursday one week prior to registration; and
-
Complete the online membership process and submit payment of the family session fee by Sunday evening at the start of registration week.
CLASS REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Families are required to pay a $30 per-session family registration fee to be listed as current members. This fee helps cover building rental, insurance, website expenses, and office and cleaning supplies. The registration fee must be paid before class registration opens. If no classes are available during your registration window, the fee will be refunded. However, new families are strongly encouraged to register for an available class, even if it is not their first choice, as this allows them to receive returning family priority registration in the next session.
Each class has a separate fee, which is paid directly to the class instructor through the website. All class fees must be paid by the close of registration week, unless alternative arrangements have been made. (Delayed payment is only available to returning members on a case by case basis.) Unpaid class registrations will be canceled, and those spots will be offered to students on the waitlist.
Clicking on a class box on the Class Registration grid opens up details about the class, including the class description and class fee.
To view class details, including descriptions and fees, click on a class box in the Class Registration Gird.
REQUIRED NEW MEMBER MEETING
New members will be able to register their family and pay the session fee after attending the New Member meeting and not until that date. The session fee is paid by each family for each session attended.
New families may register their family and pay the family membership fee only after attending the New Member Meeting, and not before that date. The family membership fee is paid once per family for each semester attended.
To receive a link to register for the New Member Meeting, please join our Interested Family email list, linked on the homepage, and an registration link will be sent once the meeting is scheduled.
The New Member Meeting is a required part of the orientation process. During the meeting, we review how the group operates, outline expectations for participating families, and explain the class registration process, which typically takes place during the week following the meeting. This meeting also provides an opportunity for both your family and our group to determine whether Learning Tree Homeschool Group is a good fit before registering and paying for classes.
Children are welcome to attend the meeting with you; however, childcare is not provided.
We look forward to meeting you and your family and hope to welcome you to the Learning Tree Homeschool Group!
